Mention it like a teammate. It works like one.

Every private workspace on Waffle gets its own AI member. Mention Waffle AI, or start from an actionable message. It reads the context you approve, opens supported attachments, writes real documents, searches your code, and uses connected tools.

Ask Waffle AI

A contextual handoff you choose

Waffle uses a conservative on-device text signal to surface the action on messages that look like sufficiently described work. This does not start a run or spend AI usage. You click the action, see what context will be included, and choose whether to begin.

  1. 1

    A request is noticed

Actionable messages may show the button. Every eligible message also keeps the action in its desktop or mobile message menu.

  2. 2

    You confirm the scope

Review the focused message and recent channel context. When the message has a thread or supported files, the panel names those before a run starts.

  3. 3

    Waffle works or asks

A clear request gets an acknowledgement and a separate result. Missing information produces a focused follow-up question instead of a guess.

In channels, in threads, or just for you

In channels. Mention it and the whole team sees the answer.

In threads. The reply and its context stay in the thread.

Just for you. /ask gets an answer only you can see.

Files you can actually send onward

Ask for a deck and a deck comes back, attached to the reply. Waffle AI writes real PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, and text files, ready for the client, the board, or the printer.

Wired into where the work lives

Connect GitHub and Waffle AI reads real code when it answers. Add Linear, Jira and Confluence, or any custom MCP server with a token, and each channel picks which of them the AI may use.

Connector tokens are encrypted at rest, and tool output never reaches the system prompt.

Admins stay in control

An AI member should be a colleague, not a loose cannon. Waffle AI is scoped, audited, and configured per team and per channel from Team Settings.

  • Turn Waffle AI off per channel, or give a channel its own persona.
  • Scope external connectors per channel: all, none, or a hand-picked set.
  • Connector tokens are encrypted at rest and never shown again after setup.
  • Everything a tool returns is treated as untrusted input, never as instructions.
  • Replies land in one piece. If a run is interrupted, you get a clean retry.

Frequently asked questions

What is Waffle AI?
Waffle AI is a built in member of your team chat. You mention it in any channel, in a thread, or in a private thread, and it reads the conversation and your attachments, then replies with the work done. It can write documents, read your code, and use your connected tools.
What can Waffle AI do?
It reads files you share and answers with specifics, writes real PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and CSV files, reads your GitHub repositories, and runs connected tools like Linear and Jira through MCP connectors. Its reply lands once, finished, with any files attached.
When does the Ask Waffle AI button appear?
A sufficiently described message that looks like actionable work may show an Ask Waffle AI button. Waffle uses a conservative text signal for this interface choice, not an AI classifier. Nothing starts until a person clicks, reviews the context scope, and chooses Ask.
Does Waffle AI type its answers out slowly?
No. Unlike a typical chatbot, Waffle AI does the work and then posts the finished reply in one piece, with any generated files attached. There is no token by token typing to sit and watch.
Can admins control what Waffle AI can access?
Yes. Admins turn Waffle AI on or off per channel, give it a per channel persona, and choose which connectors each channel may use, with read only or read and write per connector. Connector tokens are encrypted at rest and never shown again.
Is Waffle AI included in the price?
Yes. Every plan includes Waffle AI, starting with the free plan. Paid plans add more monthly usage, pooled across your team, plus larger uploads and more connectors.

Give your team its extra member.

Waffle is in early access. Creating a team takes about two minutes, and Waffle AI is ready the moment you do.
